I realized that more than 1 person could not do the surveys, on each computer. For example, if you guys have spouses who would like to participate, then they would not be able to fill in the survey, also. I made changes. Now another person can use your computer to participate in the polls.
Would you, please, get your spouses to participate, also? I think that it would be more fun to have more people.

This caught my attention, because I am still interested in finding the most opaque pair available.
I suppose that I could go for a thick woolen pair, or a thick cotton pair, but I probably would not enjoy the feeling of those fabrics.

It seems that some real life superheroes are setting a positive role model. I like this because there is no association with being soft, or being in touch with our feminine side. It is pretty hard to argue with these guys, because they have a legitimate need to hide their identities, and they are doing something that the majority of us can easily recognize as being positive. To confirm my view, please read the comments below that writing.
I highly recommend that you try dressing up as a superhero if you want to wear hosiery with your costume.

The following paragraph came from a previous blog entry. I separated it to give it better visibility on the topic of sewing.
This blogger found a tutorial on how to hand sew a full length pair into stockings. A while ago, people only thought of them in terms of not sagging or never buying them again. The way that she and her friends rave about it shows that their attitudes have changed: they are not satisfied with a bad fit, and they are willing to work at it, to get a great fit.
Remember what life was like several years ago, when we were excited to see a woman in hosiery? She could wear the 5 year old $1 pair that she bought at the supermarket, and we would still be happy to see her wear the tattered garment [or not]. Well, I have been receiving news and search results in my inbox lately, and things are looking promising. Read the remainder of this blog entry for a bunch of highlights.
[Update: I removed a paragraph and placed it in a separate blog entry, because the main focus was on sewing, even though it did show us their attitudes about hosiery.]

A girl is asking guys for hosiery advice. I share this page with you, for a couple of reasons. First of all, I want to point out that people are discussing hosiery in a relatively positive way. Last of all, I want to use this opportunity to say that I think that the guys that she is concerned about are being ungrateful. Guys, if she clads her legs with hosiery, then be happy.
Perhaps I should coin a new phrase:
Be glad when she clads..

A lot of women probably know about the spring 2011 hosiery trends, but I share this with you, so that we can breathe a sigh of relief, knowing that hosiery will be in style.
I really respect their suggestions of using summer dresses with tights to get a winter and spring look.

Many women have a hard time seeing their men in pantyhose. We have heard it all before, but here is another person chiming in. How can we let them feel feminine, because of the hosiery that they wear, while letting us wear hosiery as well?
Monday, December 20, 2010
A happy couple had a conversation about tights, pantyhose, and leggings. She wants them for Christmas, and he struggles to figure everything out. It is embarrassing for the husband, but it is a delightful conversation. I am impressed that she wants them for Christmas.

Everybody wants hosiery that lasts forever. Unfortunately, selling a product [e.g. ultra sheer pantyhose] as strong and sensual is challenging, because strength and sensualness are typically mutually exclusive. With new technology, this does not have to be that way. This blog entry touched on the issue. I am glad that he recognized stockings as a good thing. There is a large image available.
I have yet to find the place to buy this hosiery. I even searched for the ad agency's web site, but could not find it. In my opinion, they failed, because did not provide enough information.
Please let us know where to buy them!

I am a bit surprised that there is an actual Mozilla addon for hosiery. The fact that they seem to get downloads each week implies that there must be a lot people out there who enjoy pantyhose, tights and other hosiery.
I wonder if there is something that we can add to it to move our cause forward. Perhaps the addon could have an option for finding fashion advice to match a purchase? This would help people who are hesitant about not fitting in, when wearing hosiery. There certainly are other needs as well. Perhaps there could be an option for finding the longest pair? Perhaps there could be an option for finding the most opaque pair?

I created another poll, which is much more serious. It is about the topic of purchasing hosiery as a group. Vote in the poll, and then, if you wish, comment below to share your answers and thoughts.
This poll is related to
In the last poll about smoothing out our hosiery, 1 participant asked, "Where are the most pantyhose wearing men?". I do not know that off the top of my head. I assume that the participant wants to know about the results of hosiery and tights in the work place survey.
The results show that most participants are in the US: 14. UK had 5. The other countries had only 1 or 2. The results seem consistent with the amount of visitors that I get. Most come from the US.
Last week, I asked, "Do you smooth out your hosiery after washing, before they dry?", and 5 of us said this.
Also, all 5 of us wanted more, so I will keep trying to make more surveys.
Lady #2 is from what appears to be a stock photo. Is the woman on the right wearing sheer hosiery [i.e. tights]? The woman on the left appears to be wearing something.
When I searched for the photo, I tried to search for business women. I found it so interesting, that most business women did not wear skirts and hosiery. I found mostly images of women in pants, and of the women that wore skirts, most went bare legged, or wore extremely obvious hosiery.

It is unfortunate when big businesses and banks fail, but even when all looks bleak, good things can still happen. It seems that there is some progress in the area of more women wearing stockings in the workplace. Read the remainder of the blog entry to read the few things that I have to say about the situation.
When I first read the article, I thought that it was a dress code requirement, but it is a dress code recommendation, and not for the entire organization. They are testing the recommendation on only 5 branches, and intend to extend it to the remainder of the organization later. Unfortunately, it seems that nobody has tried out the recommendations yet.
Also, because it is only a recommendation, I think that it is safe to assume that they are allowed to wear full length hosiery [i.e. pantyhose and tights].
Hopefully, they will allow men to wear shorts and hosiery. I doubt it, though, because I believe that they are going for a conservative professional look, and it would be very difficult to encourage men to wear hosiery, while looking conservative.
It is interesting that the banks request that the women wear flesh coloured underwear. I assume that the author is referring to bras, which might be visible through thinner shirts.
If you respond to the article, then let us know, and feel free to cross post here.

I will perform in an orchestra presentation, this coming Friday. I wanted to wear hosiery and shorts, but I decided against it, because I do not like the look of my outfit with a black coat, and because I feel that the overall appearance is not something that people are ready for. Also, my brother and parents are coming, and they would not appreciate it. We cannot win them all.

I take it for granted that my hosiery will be nice and smooth, before I put it on, as opposed to wrinkled and tangled. The hosiery wearing experience, starts in the brain, before you even put on a pair of hosiery. In fact, it starts before you even see it. I suggest that you read the remainder of this blog entry to see how I make my hosiery nice and smooth, so that you can get the most pleasure out of your hosiery wearing experience. While you are at it, comment below to let me know if you also unwrinkle your hosiery.

We have all seen ads that say, "_____ makes the perfect gift.", right? It makes sense, whether they are telling the truth or not, because we understand that they are trying to persuade us to buy their products. I was surprised, though, to see Silkies claim that tights make the perfect gift, because I remember reading a long while ago, that if you give a pair of hosiery as a gift to your gal, then she would be a little bit upset for not giving her something special. So, if you ask me, then I say that a company to claiming that their hosiery makes a good gift is quite a change in society.
3 cheers for hosiery!

Yes, men can wear hosiery [i.e. pantyhose; tights]. Men do it often. In many countries, women suggest the idea to their men, and the men are happy to comply. Even if it is not hot or cold, you might want to wear a pair, to keep your pants clean, so that you would not have to dry clean as often. There are many other reasons to wear hosiery. Feel free to ask people for reasons, if you need more.

I have included links to several photos showing people wearing outrageous outfits that make perfect sense when they cheer for their team. I realize that we have seen situations like this before, but an illustration is worth 1000 words, and it might encourage people to wear hosiery [i.e. pantyhose, nylons, tights, etc.]. That being said, these situations are proof positive that people are willing to break societal norms for this unique type of situation, and to create a new norm. We can use these situations to overcome objections.

I went to orchestra rehearsal last night, and I wore the blue opaques that I bought from Foot Traffic, with a white turtleneck, a hoodie sweat shirt, and my least favourite black shorts. Some interesting news came into my inbox lately. It seems that MTV was excited to highlight the hosiery that 4 fashion bloggers modeled. I bet that hosiery is here to stay, and it will be the up and coming generation that will lead the way, while the bare leg generation will die off still unclad.

Just a while ago, I took 1 of my favourite pairs, and converted them into footless hosiery, because they were so worn out and so badly damaged. Julee Wilson shows women how to wear opened toed shoes and hosiery. I recommend that women go with it.
As for men, I think that the only open toed shoes that we have are casual sandals, and I kind of wonder if we can get away with it. If we do not care about how we look, and if we do not mind getting dirt and rough stuff between our hosiery and sandals, then we definitely can. There are situations like that, I am sure, but for the most part, I think that guys cannot get away with it.
Do any of you guys and gals wear hosiery and sandals?

I wrote about Secret Luxury hosiery. For all of you Secret Luxury fans, I encourage you try buying Secret opaque hosiery. I think that they do not have a style name for their opaque hosiery.
While wearing them again, I realized that Secret Luxury really feels a lot like the other Secret opaques that I have. This is good news, because I could not find Secret Luxury anymore in stores or online. I suspect that Secret just rebranded the hosiery to help it to sell better.

My uncle mentioned that an Asian singer got her legs severely burned, due to an explosion while she wore stockings.
He also revealed that there were "minor burns" on his daughter's face though the majority of her serious burns were on her legs as she was wearing stockings, a particularly combustible article of clothing, when the accident happened on Friday.
"She is just very tired after the operation. We should let her rest as much as possible and get better. It will take two to three weeks for her to recover from this operation," said Ho, adding that the main concern now is to make sure Jen's wounds do not become infected.
This is just the first of many hurdles for Jen on her road to recovery, which observers say may take up to two years.
My uncle also said that China is discouraging women from wearing stockings, because they are unsafe. I have not found any article about that. This accident and the consequences are not going to stop me from wearing. It is good to know, though.

On Tuesday, A new ESL student told me that she gave her ex-boyfriend hosiery to keep warm, and neither of them had problems with it. I think that this is news, because it shows that lots of people are not just beyond the whole issue: they are wondering what the whole fuss is. Of course, the ex-boyfriend never wore it under shorts, but the fact that she so easily turned to hosiery shows that they have no problems with it.
Discussing the issue with her was a great way to advance our cause.

I went to do volunteer work, as an ESL tutor, on Tuesday. My favourite student wears hosiery. I gave her a chance to ask me questions. She ended up asking me if I was wearing leggings. In other words, she never bothered to look at my legs, when I walked by a couch, where she was sitting. I thought that it was amazing that she never bothered to look at my legs. It just goes to show that you are not always going to be noticed, even though you are wearing opaques.
Bear in mind, that she was not asking about actual leggings, but just hosiery in general. At least, that is what I think.

1 bit of great news is that I did get to wear grey opaque hosiery in front of the camera. 2 bits of bad news are that I was so close to the camera, that you probably would not have seen me wearing hosiery, and that I did not get to wear hosiery for the second and final scene that I did. 2 bits of good news are that lots of people saw me wear it, and that I spoke to 3 people about it. I found some nice photos of women. They are fully clothed, except for 1 photo, of a woman in a bikini. Many of the photos show the women immodestly wearing short skirts. Overall, though, they show that you can look nice and attractive, while keeping yourself fully clothed. It is a good lesson for the women, but men should really take notes.

I made a page, that lists many web sites where you can buy colourful hosiery. I have not tried those sites, other than footraffic.com.
For colourful hosiery, there are so many standards on what people are willing to accept, therefore, I will not review or check the quality of those products. It is different from the opaque hosiery, because we are looking for the most opaque, in a good length, and in a local store. We might want the opaquest to be matte or shimmery, but there is not a lot of flexibility.
Tuesday, October 19, 2010
I am on the lookout for the opaquest hosiery on the market. Therefore, I created a page for what I think are the recommended brands and the recommended places to get them. Bear in mind, though, that I have not evaluated every single brand and style, so a missing brand does not necessarily mean that I do not recommend it.

I have been told that Japanese guys commonly wear hosiery and shorts. I have never seen this with my own eyes. I suppose that it is because I have never been to Japan, but you would think that it would be easy to find photos of guys wearing shorts and hosiery. The only photo that I could find, via Yahoo! and Google, was this photo.
Have any of you seen guys in Japan [or even guys who look like they could be Japanese] wear hosiery and shorts?

David Kelly will take charge of the new Wonder Woman show. The article speculates on a few actresses taking the lead. I prefer Megan Fox, because she has the same glamour, that Diana Carter had, and because I think that she is the most beautiful of the candidates. I would not be surprised if the 2 of them had the same acting skills. I think that Angelina Jolie should just stick to movies.
I felt that this was of interest to us, because the article mentions tights, and that she is probably going to get a different outfit. I think that the outfit should involve athletic apparel, because it is stretchy like old school hero costumes, but it is more modern.

It was good to have support from a couple of family members. The rest were uncomfortable. I think that I might wear shorts and hosiery at the next family gathering.
I am grateful that my uncle took the book off of my hands. It means that I have only 1 more book on my hands. Also, I appreciate his support. He got me to autograph it.
It was interesting to see them look at the photos and a few pages here and there.
I just realized that I will not share many experiences for the next month or 2, because I will not be going out much. Just this past Thursday, on Facebook, I announced that the public library bought 2 copies of my book, and then my aunt commented on it, and said that I must bring it to the Thanksgiving family gathering. I said that I would. I am a bit nervous about it, because I think that I might not explain very well why I wear hosiery. Telling my extended family is a big step for me. I should be okay. I will tell you what happens on Monday.

I have been mentioning my hosiery advocacy on Craig's List, and I am glad that there have been positive responses.
Welcome, all Craig's List visitors, and visitors from other places. I really hope that you find something meaningful here, and I hope that there was no misunderstanding.
I found an old online local daily newspaper article about men wearing hosiery. http://www.canada.com/vancouversun/news/story.html?id=cdcbffb0-6873-42dd-b484-4275ddc5863e&k=48343 I decided to share a bit about myself, and leave a comment.

I saw some the other day, inside their store, as I passed by in downtown Vancouver. I also saw a banner ad. This is good news for those who still want to buy from American Apparel.
Bear in mind that colourful Hue hosiery is being sold in The Bay [i.e. department store], this season, and I bet that their hosiery is much cheaper. Also bear in mind that Hue probably does not have the same worker complaints that American Apparel does.

When I went down to claim my prize, people could see that I was wearing grey opaque hosiery, so I think that I left a small impression on them. I am disappointed that I did not wear more formal clothing, to impress the executives who hosted the show.
Overall, I think that it went well.
Here is a Hue press release that I found, and I believe it is a little interesting. Since I want to start publishing press releases, I believed that this would be a good start.
It is from Feb. 3, 2009, which makes it old enough that we might have seen it and forgot about it. I learned a bit from it, anyways.

I like white hosiery, so I am glad to read this: White stockings are in, my eyes hurt.... Well, I am not glad to read about her eyes hurting, though. :^D
There is a nice photo.

An article, Stockings fail to stop blood clots, says that compression stockings do not work, and they cause problems.
I think that I disagree with the scientist, because there was no mention of a control group or random samplings. The failure of the hosiery to help the patients might be a reflection of the patients, and their problems, not the hosiery. The hosiery might have worked just fine.

This information is focused on Metro Vancouver, but is also useful for other parts of Canada, and the US.

I went to downtown Vancouver, and took a look at the sizing charts of most of the brands at Sears and The Bay.
Saturday, September 25, 2010
I just took a look at The Bay, and Sears, on Sunday, Sep. 19, 2010, and did not see any Hanes hosiery. It seems that they are no longer available in Canada. I asked a staff member at The Bay, and she said that they do not sell them anymore, and that she did not know why.
Friday, September 24, 2010
I spoke to a staff member at The Bay, and she said that they stopped selling Wonder Bra. I suspect that they wanted to make more room for Hue. They seem to have more Hue products.

I was having a good session with my student, so I decided to ask her about my hosiery. It seems that she has no problems with guys wearing hosiery in Canada. She only thinks that it is inappropriate in Korea. I asked her if it seemed gay. She said, "No. No!". So there you have have it. For every person that seems to have a problem, there are a million that do not.
The Fringe Festival really took good care of their volunteers. I appreciate the way that they offered refreshments, and offered a nice party at the end of it all. This implies, to me, that they are not recruiting volunteers just to save money. Read on, to find out how the night went.

I sent an email to various companies, asking them for samples so that I could write product reviews. I also requested access to the press section of the Wolford site. I doubt that they'll want to give me any privileges, but I thought that I should try. I figure that if I did not get any results, then I could still try again, another day.
In an earlier blog entry, I said that I would try to mend a broken relationship with the next day. I completely forgot about the next day part. I finally followed up on it, on Sunday. I sent him a message via Flickr, asking him for forgiveness.
He ended up replying, on Monday, and said that he did not have a problem with what I said. So, we are on good terms.
I must admit that this experience was kind of scary, because I felt that bad things can always happen when trying to mend relationships.

I decided to wear pants.
During the day, I thought about what she would have permitted and not permitted. I wondered if she would have let me wear shorts during the day, but not in the evening, or if she would not have let me wear shorts at all during the day and evening. I want to follow up on it. I will send her an email, and I will get back to you. I think that it would be an interesting opportunity for us to be able to wear them to expos and conventions.
An unusual thing did happen during the morning. 1 girl helped me to find a volunteer shirt. She said that I should try the women's medium size, instead of the men's because the fit would be better, and also because the men's small were no longer available. I declined to wear it, because the difference would be obvious, and I did not want to take that chance. I wonder why she thought that I would be open to the idea of wearing a woman's shirt. I suspect that it had something to do with her seeing me during the previous night's orientation, when I wore hosiery and shorts. She was sitting just a seat or 2 away.

Read this blog entry for a general description of what happened, yesterday.
Read the upcoming blog entry on Sep. 20th, for a hosiery review of Hanes Alive.

It went quite well. I finally got to wear a pair of mostly opaque hosiery [i.e. tights], that I had been waiting for some time to try, but I was a bit disappointed, because it was actually dark blue, not black. I thought that it was black. I'll have to check the packaging to see if the label was misprinted.
That being said, the experience was good overall. I noticed a lot of women wearing hosiery yesterday. I even got to volunteer along side of 1 of them.
I had to wear a yellow t-shirt. In the near future, I will try to post a photo.
In the near future, I would like to post a hosiery review of this new pair of hosiery. I highly recommend that you buy a pair.

Yesterday, I was speaking with a student to help her practice her conversation English. During that time, she mentioned shopping. So, I slowly turned the conversation towards men in hosiery. I was the first guy wearing it, that she ever saw. We never really talked about why I wanted to wear it. She seemed to explain that she did not really care about whether or not guys would wear it, even though she felt that guys should not wear it.
On Tuesday late afternoon, I will volunteer again at a performance, as a ticket seller. This time, I intend to try to wear beige shorts and white opaque hosiery. I will let you know what happens on Wednesday.
Check back on Friday, when I post a blog entry about my volunteer experience with a business expo. I intend wear a business appropriate outfit with hosiery.
Monday, September 13, 2010
I went out again on Sunday night, to volunteer with the Fringe. This time, I went without hosiery and without shorts.
I wish that I would have worn something nice, but 1 of the things that stopped me from doing it, was the rainy weather. I think that it would have made me look a bit weird to wear hosiery on a very rainy day.
It is so hard to measure reactions without a proper survey. Perhaps I should take a photo of myself, and then get some public feedback. With 1 group of random people, I could ask for feedback on a guy who is trying to prove a point despite the weather, and with another group of random people, I could ask for feedback on just a guy. In other words, I would try to measure their reactions to a person with a positive story, and their reactions to a person without a story.

Just recently, I wore sheer hosiery with my ugly clothing. I felt a little weird. Sometimes the outfit is to blame, and not the hosiery, but I cannot help but wonder if it is actually the sheer hosiery. After all, we are not going to always have days where we want to wear awesome clothing. Sometimes we really have to put on whatever is clean and go with it.
Another thing to consider is that women typically wear sheer clothing. This means that sheer hosiery is much more feminine than opaque hosiery. If you look at Shakespearean clothing, then you will notice that many/all of the styles are opaque. If you look at female clothing, throughout the centuries, sheer clothing tended be worn by women.
Does this mean that we are not able to wear sheer clothing? We could wear it, but it will take a lot more work.
We need to take an unbiased look at styles of clothing that are not in the mainstream. Take turbans, for instance. They have been around for a while. People continue to wear them boldly, just as we wear hosiery boldly. Somehow, people still do not want to wear either.
I think that it will be a lot longer, before we ever break into the mainstream.

I'm impressed to see my HotOrNot score. I'm not trying to brag. It is just that usually, I get about 6 or less after a lot of people have rated me.
Maybe this news, plus the previous blog entry, is a sign that people are warming up to the idea of men in shorts and hosiery.

Those crazy 43-Things people just suspended my account without even giving me notice, so I removed the link from the find-me page, until further notice. I sent them a message, asking for more information. I will keep you updated on the issue.
I suspected that it might have something to do with a comment that I made about not needing to cross dress in order to wear hosiery. That probably didn't go over well with the cross dressing community.

Last Wednesday, I volunteered at a performance, as a greeter. I accepted the tickets, when the audience members went in.
It was interesting, because before the show, a fellow asked me if I was wearing stockings. I was wearing black day sheers. I told him that I was. Eventually, he asked me about it, and I explained that I was trying to raise awareness about straight guys, hosiery, prescription hosiery, etc. I doubt that he was convinced to wear them, but he never said anything negative or positive. It was hard to read him. I was too busy looking around. I wonder if he felt offended. In fact, he was looking around also. It was busy enough that we were probably both distracted.
1 interesting question that he asked was about whether or not there are any men's sizes. That surprised me, because I didn't expect it to occur to him.
We can consider 1 more guy to be informed.

I noticed a lot of new traffic has been coming my way, and 1 of the sources is SheerGeek's blog. I took a look, and it was good. He has a lot of product news.
As I went through his blog, I was just thought up an idea. If we want to write about products, then perhaps we could submit the review to his blog, to keep everything in 1 central location. To give ourselves some traffic, we could place a link in the writing to our own blogs. To ensure that our readers still recognize that we are producing that content, we could announce the new blog entry by writing a short blog entry, directing the readers to the full length blog entry. SheerGeek, what do you think?

It seems that EG Smith has no qualms about marketing to men and women, when they say, "Will fit men and women up to 6 feet and 200 pounds".
I am very distrustful of those who make claims about sizes that fit tall people, but at least they recognize a market demand for it.

A few things have been happening with me and LegLuxury.com. In the remainder of the blog entry, I wrote about 2 of those things: Hallie's response; a couple of styles that could be alternatives for American Apparel's colourful hosiery.
Hallie, from LegLuxury.com made a special effort to comment in 1 of my blog entries. I asked her a question, and then she responded via email. I posted her response, with permission, in the comment area.
Since American Apparel might discontinue their variety of colours, I think that it is important to find alternatives. Since we are on the topic of LegLuxury.com, I'd like to point out that they have 2 bright colours that you might like as alternatives. They are a bit too feminine for tastes, but they are colourful.
If you have any experience with their products, then please post a review.

Wow. I never thought that I'd see the day: American Apparel a hipster darling no more as bankruptcy looms. I was under the impression that there would always be enough young people to waste enough money to support the business.
The important information to us, though, is that they may discontinue their colourful hosiery, if they decide to rebrand themselves.
In a last-ditch effort to improve flagging sales, Mr. Charney is quickly repositioning the company’s image and clothing style. Earlier this month he declared the hipster trend which has been powering his expansion through the past three years “over.” He is moving his product with its ageing customers, swapping neon bike shorts for preppy blazers.
This disappoints me, because I'm not employed, and I hesitate to spend the cash.
With less colourful hosiery on the market, I suspect that colourful hosiery may go out of style. Maybe it isn't worth stocking up on the stuff, after all.

I've tried to improve the text for the link that leads you to the blog entry, to avoid redundant text. I also decided to add better phrasing in the final paragraph before the link, to let you know what is in the remainder of the blog entry.
I haven't gone back to the previous entries to make corrections, so some of them are still a bit weird.
As you may have gathered from previous blog entries, I volunteered at the PNE parade, yesterday.
It was a long day, but I've got some great stories about discussing the topic of hosiery with a former manager, about seeing former fellow soldiers, and about how it went.
I've have discovered that I might have Asperger's syndrome, so I am feverishly pouring through all the information that I can get my hands on. I've even sent a questionnaire to people.
I'll try to start posting blog entries again, soon.

I thought that it might be worth while for us to take a survey of the hosiery situation. Would you all do the community a favour, and fill in 1 of the surveys below? 1 survey is for men who are currently wearing hosiery in the work place, whether or not they are allowed to. The other is for men who are not currently wearing hosiery in the work place, whether or not they are allowed to. Please do only 1 or the other, but not both.
- men who do wear
- men who do not wear
I will create a special page to list all the surveys that I have created, that are still available. The link to the survey page should be easy to find. Just scroll up, and find "Open Surveys".
Read the remainder of the blog entry, if you are curious about what I intend to do with the survey data.

About a week or 2 ago, I tried on Secret's Comfy Top style [style #5530]. I was very pleased with how it felt. I did not wash it ahead of time. It seemed a bit rougher than I would have wanted, but I definitely still found them very pleasurable to touch. So, you can imagine how good it will feel after it gets its first washing. I have a feeling that it will be great.

This article has some nice photos of Lady GaGa, before she was Lady GaGa: Brunette GaGa BEFORE she was famous. I find her hosiery photos to be immodest, but interesting. It seems that she has a real preference for hosiery, since she wore them in many of her photos before and during her fame.
I've heard her sing on YouTube, and honestly, I'm quite impressed. She has a good voice.
I wonder if she lives a fairly normal life in her private life. I guess that most performers take off their costumes when they are alone, but does she have some kind of weird clothing style in private and public, or does she have some kind of weird clothing style only in public? I have a feeling that she only does in public, and that she's just doing it for attention, which is what most people seem to say.

I respect Zac. He views the wearing of tights in a superhero role as a thing to be respected and something to aspire to: Zac Efron Not Yet Qualified to Wear Tights -- Vulture. He puts tights in a good light.
Thanks Zac! You probably weren't thinking of us, when you wrote that, but thank you, all the same.
An interesting article showed up in my alerts, many days ago: Cage fighters in tights and tutus. I don't think that this portrays men wearing hosiery very well, but I think about the positives. At least a few guys have become a little more familiar with it, and I suspect that this will make it easier for us in the future.
Don't forget to check out the image gallery.

I eventually did go to Kitsilano Beach with my hosiery under my shorts. I wore them the entire time. I stayed for about 4 - 5 hours. Nothing bad happened. If anything, I was the person causing the trouble. ;^)
I'm still not sure that I would wear them in the water, though. For those of you who wonder about whether normal people do swim with hosiery: Western Mass, States, Banquet '05. There are more, but those are the only photos that I could find.
Saturday, August 7, 2010
It seems that Kate Moss is leading the way in bringing sheer hosiery back into the mainstream.
Friday, August 6, 2010
Tomorrow, I will go to Kitsilano Beach to meet a new friend.
I wonder if I should wear hosiery underneath my shorts. If I go for a swim or walk on sand, then I wouldn't want to get sand in my hosiery. I could wear footless hosiery, but I'm concerned that it could look very feminine.
I have to start the day off as a participant in an experiment, so I'll probably wear something under my shorts, and then take it off later. We'll see how it goes.
I wonder what people in Australia do. My parents went to university in Sydney. Maybe they went to the beach often. Maybe they remember. I seem to recall a program that they had a few years ago to encourage people to cover up.

I tried a technique to sew together some hosiery. Basically I cut off sections of a leg of hosiery, and then sewed the ends together to make 2 simple garters to hold up my flashes, when I wear a kilt or shorts.
Overall, I'm very happy about how it turned out for a garter, but I'm a little disappointed in how hard it is to sew nylon and spandex materials. I have a big respect for people sew hosiery. It's a lot harder than it looks. I'm sure that it takes training and practice before the people can work on the actual products. I'm also sure that a lot of it is done by machine, too.
So far, I've tried 2 techniques. The first technique didn't allow the nylon to stretch. The second technique didn't allow it to shorten.
For more ideas, click
Now that I have made a pair of kilt flashes, I feel that I'll be a bit more complete, if I wear my black kilt. Also, I could use the flashes with my black shorts. I just wish that it was easier to make the flashes. Making such a low quality product seems like such a waste of time.

I recall meeting somebody in person, who was very excited to meet me, because he had been following me on MySpace for some time. Unfortunately, I said something, and I'm sure it offended him, even though I never intended to offend him at all. I'm sure that he remembers it quite well.
Now that I have a better understanding of how people think in different situations, I have come to regret what I did. I think that I needed to see it from a public relations point of view. From that perspective, I needed to be more sensitive to his needs, standards, and desires. At the time, I chose a particular phrasing, because I thought that it was more accurate, and I still do, even though it is considered offensive by many people. Now that I am thinking about it from his perspective, I choose to phrase these thoughts differently.
I'm going to try to contact him tomorrow, and ask for his forgiveness. He'll probably not forgive me, but at least I'll try.
You all probably remember my previous blog entry about turning used hosiery into underwear.
I practiced a bit with the old hosiery that I have. It turns out that it is really hard to do with ordinary thread. The particular sewing machine that I use is partially to blame. It doesn't have the same stitches that the professional machines have. The hosiery does stretch after sewing, and it does seem to have a nice clean seam, but it doesn't really stretch as well as the other seams. Maybe that's a good thing for underwear. The seam, that I made, stretched about 1.8 times the normal length. I might be able to improve that, but that's about it.
I'll keep you updated. For more ideas, click

For those of you who didn't know, I wrote a book, called, "The Blog Entries Of Hosiery Advocate". It's a collection of my blog entries, from my previous hosiery blog.
I published it with Lulu.com. It turns out that they made a mistake, which made it hard to use their search engines to find my book. To make it up to me, they let me give away this coupon for purchasing my book at 15% off.
Keep reading for the text version of the coupon, and more information.

Well, gals, it seems that Razzamatazz can't keep their products on the shelves. They are literally giving away stockings to each Aussie girl, who...eh, read more about it below. Guys, I've sent an email on our behalf. We'll wait to see what happens. Until further notice, I think that we're out of luck. :^(

For those of you, who are eager to find out who the contest winner is, but haven't been following along, go find out who the winner is.
I was a little disappointed in the video that they shared, because it was very hard to tell if the girls were wearing any hosiery at all. I don't think that it is just the video quality.

It's about time. I just finished it about 10 minutes ago.
There were a lot of mistakes, and I'm sure that I'll do better next time. Near the end of the project, it got to the point where it was getting tedious, and I began to drag my feet, because I didn't know how to ensure that it would turn out okay. There was nothing that I could do to ensure that it would turn out better than the way that it is. This was my first kilt project, and I just had to accept the fact that experience would be the best teacher, and that I would have to learn the hard way.
I'll try to get some photos for you all, in the next 2 weeks. I just need to get my camera set up.
I'll probably go back to the sewing machine, after this, and make some flashes.
For those of you just joining us: I wanted to make a kilt, to help draw positive attention to the fashion trend of mainstream heterosexual men wearing shorts and hosiery [i.e. pantyhose, tights]. Typically, I wear my shorts and hosiery without a kilt. I hope to wear a kilt with socks and flashes, and hosiery underneath it all. I think that a kilt could be a very masculine part of it all.
Friday, July 16, 2010
I realized that now that I can sew, I can actually start using control panties from used hosiery to make underwear. I think that I'll need to take 2 pairs to make 1 custom pair. I think that for men, we would really need to make a nice pouch at the front. For women, I don't know, but I'm sure that it isn't that different.
I'll keep you all updated. It'll be a while before I get started though, because I have so much that I need to do. For more ideas, click
I just thought of something that we could do with our old hosiery. We could use them in macramé projects.
As I collect them, I'll begin to try out different projects and keep you updated. I am curious about what I could possibly do with them. For more ideas, click

There seems to be a new exciting competition on the web, that I just found out about. The Australian hosiery company, Razzamatazz, is letting you choose the next Razzamatazz girl to represent them and pose for them. They have chosen the top 25 girls already. You get 5 votes to choose 5 girls to go to the final 5 stage. Simply login with your Facebook account and use the like-button. Hurry, though, because this stage of the contest ends June 20, 2010, at 11:59pm AEST. The web site will tell us the winners on June 21.
I have already checked the web site out, and all/most of the contestants are very beautiful.
Please read the remainder of this blog entry for more information. I'll help you to find more photos of the girls, and a video of 1 of the girls. I'll tell you about prizes, contest dates, and where you could get more information about who these girls are.

I decided to start writing again, because I want to make a harder push.
I want to focus on finding a broad cross section of people to share my ideas with. Also, I want to get some photos of various kinds of people who support me, so that you'll be convinced that it is okay for men to wear hosiery in mainstream society.
